How to Start Home Care in Monmouth & Ocean County
Step 1: Start the Conversation
Reach out in the way that’s easiest for you:
- Call us at 732-685-0786 (You’ll likely speak with Peace, our owner, or a member of her local care team)
- Request a free in-home consultation using our contact form
- Use 24/7 live chat for questions anytime
Note: After-hours calls are returned the next morning, typically within a few hours of business opening.
During this initial conversation, we’ll discuss:
- What kind of help you need
- How soon care needs to start
- Your schedule preferences
- Insurance coverage or private pay options
- Whether we’re a good fit based on your needs
If it sounds like we can help, we’ll schedule a free in-home consultation at a time that works for you.
Step 2: Free In-Home Consultation
This is not a medical visit. It’s a relaxed but thorough conversation designed to build a care plan that fits your daily life.
During the consultation, we typically:
- Discuss challenges with daily activities (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and meal routines
- Review schedule preferences and personality fit to improve caregiver matching
- Walk through the home to spot common fall risks (rugs, lighting, stairs, bathroom access)
- Outline the support you want, such as:
- Light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, tidying)
- Meal preparation and nutrition support
- Medication reminders (we cannot administer medication)
- Transportation for errands or appointments
- Companionship and routine structure
- Confirm logistics like schedule, minimum hours, coverage options, and next steps
Our goal: Leave you with clarity on what help looks like, what it costs, and how we’ll match you with the right caregiver.
Step 3: Start Care in 1-3 Days
If it’s a fit, we match you with a certified caregiver and begin services. We typically start within 1-3 days, depending on caregiver availability and the schedule you need.
What happens next:
- We assign a caregiver whose skills, personality, and availability match your needs
- We coordinate schedules and confirm start times
- We introduce the caregiver (meet-and-greet recommended)
- Care begins with ongoing RN supervision and support
We stay in close communication during the first few weeks to make sure everything is working smoothly. If adjustments are needed, we handle them quickly.
What to Prepare for Your Consultation
To make the consultation as productive as possible, it helps to have:
- Emergency contacts
- A list of medications (for reminders only—we don’t administer medication)
- Questions about caregiver training, backup coverage, and total weekly cost
- Notes on what’s hardest day-to-day
Don’t worry if you don’t have everything—we’ll work with what you have and figure out the rest together.
